Leadership 2011 News and Announcements
January 14, 2011
Leadership Conference 2011 kicked off with more than half of those attending leadership participating in Managers' Reception! Those hardworking demonstrators enjoyed an amazing night, experiencing what true country means at Nashville's well-known Wild Horse Saloon.
Thursday morning, Shelli officially started Leadership 2011 with an early-morning welcome at an informal breakfast gathering. Demonstrators attended classes throughout the morning, then gathered together for the opening general session.
During that session, Shelli recapped the changes that had taken place since she announced at Convention 2010 that "it was time for change." Those changes were far-ranging, including changes to the company's organization, events, customer manager, and products.
And the time for change isn't over, Shelli stated. "We continue to be committed to identifying meaningful ways to change the way we do business to make Stampin' Up! more rewarding, fun, and fulfilling for you and your customers."
Shelli noted that every Main Stage presenter would make at least one "change" announcement--she started the ball rolling by telling demonstrators that, for the first time ever, this year Stampin' Up! will "be implementing a global, yearlong campaign, designed to unite demonstrators around the world in our goal to share Stampin' Up! with others."
That campaign is based on the theme of Leadership 2011--+ONE--and encourages every Stampin' Up! demonstrator around the world to implement just one small addition to her or his Stampin' Up! business.
"The beauty of +ONE is that every demonstrator--and every employee--can get involved because the campaign is so simple," Shelli noted. "And yet--and this is where it gets very exciting--when thousands of Stampin' Up! demonstrators around the world focus their efforts on doing just one extra thing this year, the overall affect will be absolutely incredible!"
Also during the general session, Shelli shared a stamping presentation based on a workshop she has scheduled later this month. During that presentation, she made another "change" announcement--every Stampin' Up! demonstrator will receive a birthday card this year from the home office. Inside the card is a birthday discount, allowing the demonstrator to order one item from a current catalog at an additional 15 percent off!
Another change at this year's leadership conference was a leadership march. Shelli invited every demonstrator who had promoted to a higher level to enjoy an onstage moment celebrating that significant accomplishment. Demonstrators enjoyed walking across the stage, often hand-in-hand with their fellow demonstrators, waving at their friends and being recognized for their achievements.
The general session concluded with additional announcements regarding the Stampin' Up! Career Plan. (Click here to read more about those changes.) Demonstrators separated after the general announcements into groups based on their titles to discuss how the changes would impact each level specifically.
In the evening, demonstrators gathered again for dinner and a Grand Opening Party, where demonstrator booths were unveiled, Memento Mall was opened, and fun was had by all! The Grand Opening party--another first for Stampin' Up!--was a rousing success and set a tone of enthusiasm and excitement for today's leadership events.
WOW!!!
